The Deva River originates in Fuente Dé, passes through potes, crosses the Hermida gorge until it joins the Cares river in Panes. Its waters are crystal clear, abundant and full of fauna.
We only need some instructions and good equipment to enjoy a day descending through the largest river in the Peaks of Europe.
We will choose the one, two or three-seater canoes according to our needs or tastes.
When sailing through the Deva we discover a world full of life. Ducks, herons, cormorants and the famous kingfisher among the birds; Otters, roe deer, foxes, squirrels are also visible and of course, numerous fish, among which trout and salmon stand out.
The descent of the Deva River is the most popular activity that can be practiced in this area of the Picos de Europa.
The canoes are stable, easy to handle and unsinkable in the event of a capsize, ensuring a rewarding and fun-filled day.
As soon as you arrive we will welcome you, we will give you the equipment and instructions. You are now ready to begin the descent of the Deva River since we do not make groups to serve you. You can go at the pace you want, being able to stop as you wish and enjoy a good bath. The approximate duration of the descent is an hour and a half for a 6 kilometer journey. Upon your arrival we will be waiting for you to transfer you back to Panes without you having to wait.
The route is perfect to enjoy with family or friends as it alternates small currents with quiet areas ideal for swimming or simply sunbathing. The gentle current of the river will accompany you throughout the journey; You will see that paddling is easy and very bearable.
In the watertight container you will carry anything you think is necessary (camera, cell phone or sun cream…).
Remember to bring a swimsuit, closed-toe shoes and sunscreen. In summer, a neoprene suit is not recommended as it can dehydrate you. We will only offer it to you if we see that the weather advises it.
If you want a monitor to accompany you you must say so when contracting (at least one day before) and you must know that you will have to be at our facilities at 10:30.
